The Spring Swap
Suspension Redo continued...(Part Two)
With the fuel line done I got her running...Had to make this
video to silence the doubters I call friends. I guess I can't
blame them, this is the first time she's rolled under her own
power in about 10 years!
A couple hours later I had the rear suspension out.

The revolver shackles are going away, I never had
the chance to run them on the trail or street. I've changed my mind on the
direction I want to go with the build.

Replacing the rear springs with Skyjacker 4" YJ military
wrapped springs, same as I did up front. I'll need to flip the
centering pin over and ditch the degree shim for my SOA setup.

I'll be connecting the springs to the frame using Rubicon
Express boomerang shackles.

The zerk protectors are from M.O.R.E. .

I need to remove the old spring perches and weld in my
Rubicon Express perches.

The plasma cutter makes quick work of the old perches.

New perches spot welded into place, I need to install
the axle to ensure everything is lined up.

Exhaust:
With the axle in place I need to start thinking about a
traction/anti-wrap bar but the muffler is taking up a whole lot
of real estate. I ordered a Dynomax bullet race muffler, the
smallest diameter muffler I could find. This will free
up some room for the traction bar.

Checkout that Dynomax next to the Flowmaster.

Dynomax Race Bullet 23" long and 2.5" in/out next to
a
Magnaflow high-flow cat.

I went with the longest muffler they offered, I don't
like my cars to be obnoxiously loud.

Checkout all the room I gained!

And it sounds good too!
