Next job is fabricating the transmission mount which will basically just be a 1" thick steel box welded to the skid plate cross-member.

This top side will be where the rubber tranny mounts sit on.

My welding is getting better.

Here the mount is bolted up to the NV4500 transmission.

The mount now welded to the skid plate. To get to this point I had the mount bolted to the transmission, then mounted the skid plate to the Jeep. Made sure all mounting and access holes lined up and tack welded the mount to the cross-member.

Took it all off for 100th time and welded the transmission mount into place. Also notice during these pics a gap was cutout to allow the front driveshaft to clear the skid plate.

Notched out the driveshaft gap little by little while I put the front suspension through is motions.

Checkout the access holes, made em big enough to get a socket up in there. It's kind of a bitch to get the nuts started but they are well protected!
