A.K.A....The cross member skid plate. Started out with a 1/4" plate of steel and cut it out to the shape of the frame rails.

Then cut out a square section so the transfer case could hang down through the skidplate.

Next you'll see where I cut a couple of holes using a hole saw. These holes will allow me access to the transmission mount bolts.

Next, time to cut side plates. This will space the skid plate away from the frame since I can't bolt it directly to the frame because the NV4500 transmission is so big. It hangs down below the frame rails.

Here both side plates in place. I chopped up my old front Jeep bumper and used it as angle iron. The angle iron sections will be welded to the top of the side plates and then bolt to the frame.
