Electronics
Batteries: At the heart of the electronics are the dual yellow top deep cycle Optima batteries. With the high demand of stereo systems, CB's , winches, off-road lights, air pumps, electric radiator fans, cell phones, GPS units and so on your going to be pulling some serious juice! Optima does offer several different model batteries, I went with model# D34/78. These are pretty much the top of the line with 750 CCA each!!!

Optima Dual Yellow Tops

The Tomken dual battery tray fits great!

With the Wrangler dual battery system you can run the batteries individually or double them up by running them as one. This is all controlled by a flip of a switch in the cockpit. Also this system has a built in emergency switch which will give you a reserve for emergency starts meaning you can't completely drain the system!! I'm planning on running the batteries individually, the motor and essential electronics (fuel injection and ignition) will be run off one battery. All the accessories will be run off the other, in extreme cases I will run them as one. Both batteries are wired to charge simultaneously.

Battery Switch

I just replaced these batteries on 12/2008, the previous ones had sat in the Jeep for 10 plus years with the key in the on position. Somehow I get the feeling they were no good? Still there's lot's of work that needs to be done.

mean green starter: Now with fresh batteries installed I can get back to working on other electronics. Next up....the starter. The Mean Green starter is a high torque light weight mini starter. With a 4.4 to 1 gear reduction, roller bearing support, and an integrated solenoid,  the Mean Green Starter can crank any engine no matter how high its static compression, not that mine is all that high. Also the body of the starter can be rotated 360 degrees to help deal with any clearance issues you might have. Checkout the Mean Green next to the stock starter.

mean green alternator: With the use of Mean Green alternator, you won't have to think about your battery life nor if it would be enough to supply electricity needed by other components in your vehicle. Mean Green alternator offers quality, reliability and durability. The rotor shaft of this alternator is supported at both ends by heavy duty double sealed bearings, with solid copper starter windings sealed with using high temperature insulation. It also features extreme heat resistance capacity with multi function integrated regulator in order to continue its operation even during extreme temperatures. Mean Green Alternators are guaranteed to crank out 140 amps to provide you clean, reliable power using state of the art internal voltage regulator that are designed to protect the vehicle's wiring and ignition systems. They are equipped with specially designed random pitch fan is extra quiet. Cool huh?

h4 halogen headlight upgrade!!!!

Looking to increase my night vision so I'm ditching the ol skool sealed beams for these H4 halogen units from IPF.

time keeper: Remember back in the day when cars actually had clocks and not a digital display in your radio? Ever since I've owned this Jeep the clock was trashed. I finally found a company the sells repops, not exact but good enough for me. Checkout Turner 4WD if you need a replacement that won't cost you a fortune.

I also scored this replacement steering column cover from Turner 4WD. It was cheap so what the heck...

Police Siren: Here we have the control unit mounted in the glove box.

In cab controls....bad picture!

Next I cut up some tabs and bolted them to the winch.

After bending up some round bar and welding I came up with this.

Test fit.

Painted.

Wired and finished and a new winch cable to boot.

Checkout the video, the recording does not do the siren justice! It's loud!

What's next? Well I'm gonna concentrate on finishing up the interior, I still have allot of other wiring that needs to be done. I'll be adding some interior lights, center console, seatbelts, seats, and so on!

Looking for the ultimate dome light I came across this  one from Vision X. Pretty damn pricey but so is everything else that is made from billet aluminum.

The light has 3 removable pods that are sealed
and loaded with some super bright LED bulbs.

They come in one, two, and three pod versions.

Also you can order the light with a flat or concaved back depending on your mount set up.

I modified mine by removing some material so
she'd mount flush to the roll bar.

Then painted it black...my favorite color!

and there it is...
